Yes! Yes! Yes! Un-fucking-believeable! Liverpool beats AC Milan in the 2005 Champions League Final. Liverpool is again at the top of the European football stage. Simply the best Liverpool match I've seen in my entire life.
Down 0-3 at half-time, the Reds came back in a blaze in the second half by scoring THREE goals in SIX minutes!! Gerrard led the charge with the first goal, followed by Smicer and Alonso. ALL in SIX fucking minutes!
I'm so deliriously happy that I can't barely think of anything to write. No words can fully describe my feelings right now. I feel like I'm walking on the air and even the reality of this impossible win still hasn't fully sunk in yet.
Can you believe it? Three goals in the span of six minutes? Against one of the best defenses in Europe--Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Nesta, Jaap Stam, Cafu, Dida, among others?
I'm happy enough that we beat Chelsea en route to the final but to cap off the glorious European run in this truly miraculous fashion is simply surreal.
This win ended the 21-year Champions League drought for Liverpool. Next up: The upcoming EPL season. Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U, Everton--you got nothing on us!!
