been using yr M'kini account for news access for sometime now. hope there hasnt been disruption on yr use for the past 1 year or so. thought i do something in return... so i paid for the upcoming year's subcription. btw got yr user/password from Rice Cooker (joe kidd's site) around the time of the last election. attached payment receipts.

I received the above email from a stranger today who renewed my annual subscription to the MalaysiaKini online news website (150 ringgit worth). It just blows me away! I'm glad to give anybody my paid access to MalaysiaKini to help enlightened the Malaysian minds and provide Malaysians with access to an alternative news source. In fact, I've been surreptitiously saving my MalaysiaKini log-in and password in almost every Malaysian-owned computers I've ever used (Nicky: I know you've been using my access to MalaysiaKini for some time now haha). I guess it's just one of my small ways to open up the minds of young Malaysians and to make them think critically of their government and country.
Anyway, I feel so blessed and grateful by this random kindness and senseless act of beauty by this awesome stranger, whom I hope to get to know in person in the future. Dude, if you're reading this, thanks a zillion for the renewal. Like I've said before, you don't really have to do it. I was just about to renew my subscription in a week or so. Wow, I still can't believe this is happening. This is simply fucking amazing!

Also, Rice Cooker is Joe Kidd's website that talks about anything and everything under the sun especially music, movies, books, DIYs, Malaysian and regional underground music scene, etc. For those who don't know who Joe Kidd is, he's the godfather of Malaysian punk scene and a permanent fixture in the underground music for the past two decades.

what the hell? hahaha why me? yes, u did save ur Malaysiakini password on my comp. and i think in the beginning i did use it a few times, way back when we were in the States. But i havent done so since. and any major news or opinions of Malaysiakini can be found in MalaysiaToday anyway. so...n no man, im not using ur malaysiakini account. im better than that man. if i did, regularly, i would have let u know, or at least joked to u about it..hahaha...are u practically giving me permission to use ur account now? hahaha
anyway, i hope u believe everything i said. my main alternative Malaysian news site is Malaysiatoday and other blogs. y did i not use ur account freely? takda masa la nak baca everything brader...so i just stick to Malaysiatoday je. even my dad's malaysiakini log-in at our home computer pun i tak penah abuse, ok? i dont take what is not mine, especially when it comes to money. haha i feel like im defending myself in front of the jury now..lol
hahaha... relax la bro! apasal la tiba2 sensitif ni? i'm not accusing you of anything la. i purposely saved the log-in and password when i used your laptop back in the states. the log-in/password is still there when i used your laptop in penang the other day. like i said, i don't care if many people use my malaysiakini access; in fact, i encourage it. well, whether you have time to read malaysiakini that's a different issue. kalau nak pakai, pakai jer la... i'm just your you and your laptop as an example. i can also used meon's PC or rifa's laptop or any malaysian students' computers i've used previously as an example. wouldn't make any difference at all. so, just chill, alright.. there's no need to be defending your moral integrity or whatever haha...
i know u saved the password once in my pc but since i reformatted, it's no longer there. but i still can recall ur password coz the first time i heard it i laughed so hard. funny, that is.
i also haven't been accessing ur account lately. my source now also MT. but in the spirit of sharing, i'll spread the password around!
