Amazing is all I can say! As of now I cannot even access the MalaysiaKini website due to heavy traffic and have to rely on the mainstream news report. One thing for sure: a sweeping change is on the horizon. The Opposition wins the state governments in Penang, Kelantan and Kedah (and hopefully Trengganu). Samy Vellu lost his Sungai Siput seat, which he had held since 1974. Sharizat lost the Lembah Pantai seat to Nurul Izzah, Anwar Ibrahim's daughter aka Putri Reformasi. The Mamak Info Minister aka Malaysian Goebbels, Zam Maidin, lost his Sungai Petani seat--a great victory for freedom of speech! The so-called "prodigy" aka the PM's son-in-law had also lost in Rembau and going through the recount process now. The PM, Pak Lah, barely holds on to his previously impregnable Kepala Batas seat by the margin of a mere 1,000 votes (2%).
Okay, I can sleep happy tonight and I will check again tomorrow when hopefully the traffic at the MalaysiaKini website returns to normal.

unfortunately, they both won. kj ngan majoriti 5400+, pak lah 11000 something. undi hantu? hahaha
tp yg penting a few 'big' names lost. dan takde 2/3. hahaha. worst election ever for bn.
aku cam ternampak arus perubahan in future. for worse or better? ntah la. tunggu dan lihat.
Well..uve been waiting for a change and it has arrived, somewhat. I was watching the results with glee..with a tinge of regret for not voting. Now, I can't claim that I took part in changing the state govt but at that point I've lost all hope.
Although they won (by simple majority) but, hey, losing 5 states has shook them up pretty badly. I think they're paying the price for being so bloody arrogant.
Funny 'the day-after' been real quiet..not like last time when the victory was theirs.
Samy out.Izzah in.Hooray!
Anyway, am doing fine. Business doing fine also. Not sure how the election will affect the business, hopefully all will go well.
How's life there? Bet ure having loads of fun.Take care.
.k.
Just got a bit overexcited on the election night, that's all! Yes, I agree that BN pays the heavy price for so arrogant and deaf to the demands of the people. And it's also the simple Newton Law of gravity: What goes up must come down. BN has been in dominance for way too long and it's about time for change. Race-based politics can only take it so far, and this election has shown why.
Now it's the Opposition time to walk the walk and prove that it's the better alternative than BN. At the minimum I'm glad that there'll be more check and balance in the Parliament since the Opposition has upped its seats from 20 to 82. A four-fold increase is simply extraordinary! I look forward to a more democratic and progressive five years (or more) in Malaysia.
Btw, I'm doing great now. 3 months until I finish my teaching contract in Indonesia.
