Yankee Invasion!

The truth is I could care less about the current controversy brewing in the Old Trafford. American billionaire, Malcolm Glazer, who is also the owner of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, bought a majority stake--75 percent--of Manchester United. Yes, the famous English football club is now owned by a Yank.

I don't mind a bit if he breaks up the whole Man U organization and sell it for scraps in the junkyard, or the eBay for that matter. At least it'll make it easier for my beloved Liverpool to take over the number three spot behind Chelsea and Arsenal in the EPL. Nonetheless, considering Liverpool's outstanding and otherworldly performance in this season's Champions League, Man U existence seems to be a non-factor.

Here's an Op-Ed piece in the NY Times today railing against this takeover.
