Sponge Bob is gay? Damn, who would have thought of that! As a matter of fact, it was the self-righteous moralistic loonies at the Focus on Family, headed by the Christian fundamentalist numbnut, Dr. James Dobson, that came out with this outrageous statement. Yep, the same guy who is the main cohort of the equally delusional Reverend Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson and the nutcases at the Christian Coalition. It was Reverend Falwell who once called The Teletubbies gay and agents of the radical homosexual agenda just because he thought the characters were trying to promote the gay culture through coded messages and innuendos.

Well, here's the NY Times article that covers the story. Remember, these are the very same people that form the main support base for Bush and the Republican Party. In case if you're wondering why Bush is doing things he's doing now, just remember that the apple doesn't fall far from tree, or in this case, his right-wing Christian fundamentalist base.
