Yep, it's that time of the year.

Besides the upcoming election in about 2 weeks, I'm also talking about the flu season. It's that time of the year when everybody gets sick. I'm officially sick today. I don't really know if it's from the erratic weather system or from all the stress and sleep deprivation I went through for the past week. I cannot even remember when was the last time I was under this much pressure. I guess it's all in the state of mind since the death of Frankie did affect me in a lot of ways and it did take me a while to readjust and to reclaim some sense of normalcy back into my life. But the combination of the stress, sleep deficit and fluctuating weather did take their toll on me physically. I was too lethargic to get out of bed this morning and missed two classes but had to drag my sorry ass out of the house for the Comparative Politics class later in the afternoon since I had a paper to turn in. To illustrate how spaced-out I was, when I was on the bus going back home from the class, I suddenly realized that I forgot to turn the paper in. I had to literally jumped out of the bus and caught another one back to campus. I even left a message on Dr. John's (my Comparative Politics professor) voicemail that I'll be swinging by his office to drop the paper. But guess what? As soon as I got to his office--fortunately he wasn't there--I looked in my bag and found out that I didn't have the paper with me. As it turned out, I did give him the paper on my way out of the class and I didn't even remember it. I'm a walking zombie!

As fate might have it, I stumbled upon my Constitutional Law professor--yes, the same person that I wrote about in the previous posts--while waiting for the elevator. Well, she already recognize my existence by now especially after my sterling performance--yes, I'm that vain--in briefing a case in the class recently and we finally got the chance to have some conversation outside of the classroom. Well, I did have a small chat with her before the class yesterday and how she thought I'm better suited to study Judicial Politics--because of my relatively good exam results maybe? Anyway, we talked about the Newdow case and my experience sitting through the oral argument in the Supreme Court. And now she wants me to tell the whole class about the experience. Why did I bring up that story? Well, she seems affable enough outside of class and since she also gives me a good grade, I'll just have to be nice to her and give her the benefit of the doubt. How ironic is it that I'm doing well in the difficult classes like the Constitutional Law and the Methods of Political Research, but doing so-so on the easy Ethnicity, Race and Religion in American Politics class, when I originally thought it'll be the way around. All As would sure look pretty good this semester.
